The Mission of the College of Arts & Humanities is to provide for all university students robust, cross-disciplinary curricula that cultivate intellectual, moral, and aesthetic virtues within a Christian community.

Position Summary:

Houston Christian University seeks Adjunct Professors to join the Spanish program with expertise in teaching the Spanish Language at the undergraduate level. Courses are offered on an as-needed basis.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Use a course syllabus for each course, following established departmental and institutional guidelines.
  • Provide timely, quality access to students via personal consultation, electronic communication and other appropriate methods.
  • Evaluate students by established means to measure their progress in achieving course objectives and to inform them in a timely manner of their progress.
  • Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
  • Submit grades and required forms in a timely fashion.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • MA or PhD in Spanish
  • Fluency (native or almost native) in the Spanish language
  • Ability to teach Spanish at the undergraduate level in the areas of basic language acquisition and culture.
  • Ability to teach from a Christian worldview.
