Position Summary
The College of Arts & Humanities at Houston Christian University invites applications for a fulltime leadership and faculty position in the Department of Philosophy, History, Law & Society. We are seeking a dynamic and mission-aligned legal scholar to serve as both professor and coordinator of our Legal Studies program.
The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding Legal Studies majors and other pre-law students across campus through intentional academic advising, mentoring, and strategic program development. In addition to coordinating the Legal Studies curriculum, the candidate will serve as a faculty affiliate of the Morris Family Center for Law & Liberty, whose mission is to educate students in the principles of liberty, constitutionalism, and free enterprise. This role will involve participation in the Center’s public programming, student initiatives, and interdisciplinary outreach efforts. This is a unique opportunity to influence the next generation of legal thinkers within a Christian liberal arts framework—combining rigorous academics, institutional leadership, and civic-minded service.
This position includes responsibilities in teaching, research or scholarly activity, and service to the University and broader community. A demonstrated commitment to academic excellence, classical liberal arts education, and student formation is essential.
