Position Summary

The Administrative Assistant for Student Affairs supports the overall operations of the Student Life division. The position provides administrative, front-office, and logistical support to the Assistant Provost for Student Affairs and the Student Life leadership team. The role assists with office operations, student-facing services, event coordination, communication management, and division-wide projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain office supplies, equipment, and shared operational resources

• Manage the Husky Storehouse inventory, scheduling, and distribution

• Oversee departmental purchasing, receipts, requisitions, and related documentation

• Monitor and manage the Student Life email account

• Serve as the first point of contact for students, parents, and visitors

• Provide guidance and direction to students seeking campus resources

• Support Student Leadership logistics and communication needs

• Assist with Student Life events, including planning, set-up, hosting, and follow-up

• Support Admissions events such as check-ins, tabling, and presentations

• Provide administrative coordination for major university events such as Presidential Awards and Honors Convocation

• Manage scheduling and calendar coordination using Ad Astra and future scheduling systems

• Assist with Care Team communication, scheduling, and meeting support

• Support the development, revision, and distribution of the Student Handbook

• Assist with updates to Student Life and related webpages

• Maintain records, files, and operational documentation

• Provide administrative, communication, and logistical support for projects assigned by the Assistant Provost and Student Life leadership

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree required

• Strong administrative, organizational, and communication skills

• Experience working in a student-facing or customer-service environment preferred

• Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing needs

• Demonstrated commitment to Christian faith and alignment with HCU’s mission and Ten Core Convictions

• Experience with basic office software and willingness to learn university systems (Ad Astra, purchasing systems, website tools)

Employment Details

• Status: Full-time position

• Benefits: Eligible for full-time benefits, including healthcare, retirement, and campus privileges

• Work Schedule: Primarily daytime hours, with occasional evening or weekend events
